In November 2024, Jamul Casino will host the RGPS Golden Expedition series featuring 12 tournaments and a Main Event with a $150,000 guarantee.

In November 2024, the prestigious RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) will return to San Diego, this time as part of the Golden Expedition tour. From November 17 to 22, Jamul Casino will host a six-day festival featuring a variety of tournament formats, special bounty events, and a main event with a large guarantee. RGPS Golden Expedition Schedule in San Diego The RGPS Golden Expedition series includes 12 tournaments, each awarding a unique champion’s ring. The schedule features both classic formats and unusual team and bounty tournaments. The highlight will be the Main Event with a $600 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $150,000. The festival kicks off on November 17 and concludes on November 22. Throughout the week, players can look forward not only to standard tournaments but also to special events with unique prizes, as well as numerous satellites that allow entry into the Main Event for a much lower amount. Main Event: $150,000 Main Event The culmination of the series will be the Main Event with a $600 buy-in and a $150,000 guarantee. The first starting flight will take place on Friday, November 20, at 6:00 PM. Two more starting flights are scheduled for Saturday, November 21, at 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This gives players three chances to make it to the final, which will be held on Sunday, November 22, starting at 12:00 PM. The tournament uses a multi-flight system: each starting day is a separate flight, and only the best players from each advance to the final. This allows players who don’t qualify on their first attempt to try again in the next flights. The PokerNews team will cover the final day with live text updates and timely news from the event. For those not ready to pay the full buy-in, Jamul Casino is organizing a series of satellites. The satellite week starts on November 10: daily $85 qualifiers guarantee two Main Event seats each of the first three days. On November 13 and 14, there will be $145 satellites, each guaranteeing five Main Event seats. Additional qualifiers will be available throughout the festival. Special Tournaments: Ambassador Bounty and PowerStack Among the special events is the $200 Ambassador Bounty Ring Event, which will take place on Tuesday, November 17. In addition to a guaranteed prize pool of $10,000, this tournament offers extra excitement: special guests will hand out prize envelopes, including $1,000 in cash and RunGood Apparel gift certificates. On Wednesday, November 18, the $300 PokerNews PowerStack will be held, featuring two starting flights and a $25,000 guarantee. This tournament is designed for players who prefer deep stacks and strategic play. The PowerStack final will be on Thursday, November 19, the same day the $300 Tag Team Double Ring Event kicks off. In this unique format, teams of two compete for two championship rings. The schedule also includes: $200 Double Green Chip Bounty — a bounty tournament for knocking out opponents; $300 Pot-Limit Omaha — an event in a popular poker variant; $200 Monster Stack — a tournament with increased starting stacks that wraps up the festival. Satellite Qualification Opportunities For many players, satellites are a chance to enter a major tournament for a small amount. The RGPS Golden Expedition features a whole series of qualifiers. Starting November 10, daily $85 satellites will award two Main Event tickets each. The more expensive $145 satellites on November 13 and 14 offer a chance to win one of five guaranteed tickets in each tournament. Additional qualifiers will be available on other festival days, allowing players to choose the most convenient option for participation. This approach makes the Main Event accessible to a wider audience, which means a solid number of entries can be expected and possibly an exceeded guaranteed prize pool. Other Formats and Festival Features In addition to the main events, the RGPS Golden Expedition schedule includes tournaments for fans of different disciplines and playing styles. For example, Pot-Limit Omaha is a poker variant where players receive four cards and can use any two to make their hand. Monster Stack is a format with an increased starting stack, giving more room for maneuvering and strategic decisions. Special attention is given to bounty tournaments, where players receive an extra reward for knocking out an opponent. This adds dynamics and makes the game more aggressive. The Tag Team Double Ring Event is a rare format for live series, where two players team up and can win a championship ring each.
